The strong presence of tannins results in a wine that goes well with any kind of fatty food. Game and
red meat in general. Excellent at the end of the meal with hard aged
cheeses.
Refosco represents the tradition of Friuli and is, therefore, excellent with aged salami or ‘soppressa’. Sausage and polenta are ideal for bringing out the flavour of this robust wine. Grilled red meat and game also make good pairings.
Merlot is a soft, well-balanced wine and ideal for drinking during a meal. It goes well with roast or grilled red meat dishes, stews, boiled meats, cheeses, risottos and first courses with elaborate sauces.
Excellent with all types of red meat; sublime with Florentine steaks, goulash, aged cheeses, especially
Montasio stravecchio or Parmigiano Reggiano.
